HCA is a community organisation run by volunteers whose mission is to bring high quality artistic productions to a local audience in Halstock village hall. Although we are a small organisation there are several ways in which we are reducing our impact on the environment.

Many of our audience members, approximately 25%, travel less than four miles to come to the venue and others from the immediate village, are able to walk, thus reducing the use of cars which benefits the environment by reducing emissions.

We use local suppliers for our food and drink wherever possible; the cakes, biscuits and hot meals we offer are homemade using locally sourced fresh ingredients.

 

Members of the committee provide overnight accommodation with refreshments to the members of the touring companies thus reducing their travel distances.

We take care to use as little single use plastic as possible; we reuse our signage, recycle bottles, cans, any food waste and we also home compost cardboard and paper.
